旅とデザイン【日記とちょっとしたお願い】

全く海外なんて行ったこともなく、英語すらも一般的な中学生以下のレベルだった私が、26歳のときに東アフリカのタンザニアに行った時から海外にドはまりしてしまい、そこから旅が私の生活の一部になった。

今は、パートナーの休暇に合わせて2カ月間の夏休みと、2－3カ月に1回ペースで1－2週間の旅に出ている。

私のデザインを好きだと言ってくれて、何度も依頼をしてくれるクライアントさん達も少しづつ増えてきて（ありがとうございます！）、旅で見てきたもの感じたものなんかが自分の仕事の糧になっているのかもしれないなぁと思う。

その国や地域によって、ちょっとした立て看板でも、色遣いや素材や好まれるフォントの雰囲気とかも全然違って面白い。

言語でも、見た目が変わるし、スーパーに行ってパッケージを見てるだけでもアイデアが出たり、勉強になります。

（本題）そんなわけで、ちょこちょこお休みを取っていますのでご依頼の際には早めに教えてもらえると助かります。

I never traveled abroad before, and my English was below the level of a typical middle schooler. But when I went to Tanzania in East Africa at 26, I fell completely in love with traveling. Since then, it’s become a huge part of my life.

Now, to match my partner’s vacation schedule, I take a two-month summer holiday and travel for one to two weeks every two to three months.

I’m grateful to my growing number of clients who love my designs and give me repeat work. I think the things I’ve seen and felt while traveling are helping me in my career. It’s fascinating how every country and region is different—even small signboards have unique color schemes, materials, and preferred fonts. Different languages also change the visual look of things. Just walking through a supermarket and looking at the packaging gives me so many new ideas and helps me learn.

(On to the main point) Because I take vacations periodically, I’d really appreciate it if you could let me know about any requests with as much advance notice as possible.
